  1. Ender’s Game- Orson Scott Card

Fantastic story- full of wisdom and challenge and love. I’ve probably read it twenty times.

  2. Lorna Doone by R.D. Blackmore is my favorite novel!

Lorna Doone is an historical novel set in the 17th century, but published in 1869. It is a sweet love story, filled with adventure and occasionally sprinkled with hilarity. That which is good and honorable is depicted as such, not blurring the line with evil. I’m drawn to that sort of purity. It is a long and descriptive book, written in an older form of English, but that is not a problem for me. However, I have never been able to find others who are willing to read it. They obviously don’t know what they are missing!

Not the best book I have read but recently read “The Book Thief” and it is an excellent read!

In Dicken’s “Great Expectations,” Pip learns to “not think more highly of himself than he aught”, gratitude and forgivenss–some of life’s most important lessons.
